Folkestone-Dover sea wall wash-out

I have to say that in those weather conditions, I am suprised that they did any lifting at all, it must have been very touch and go. If they had done the job over Christmas, I think they would have had the job in the bag. Sorry to any orange army that would have had to work over the festivities.

Still the railway side of the job will hopefully be finished by this time next week and will only leave the rock armour on the beach to finish, unless I have missed something.

The first span is on the trolleys and is being prepped for slinging and lifting.

This is from the tunnel tops, fog, closing in, with wind and rain.

The span was lifted, off the trolleys, then grounded.

Either, waiting for the high winds to abate, or adjust the slings, the lift commenced.

Meanwhile, back at the ranch, the center section was loaded and troll eyed down.

At this point, both my cameras performance deteriorated, dramatically due to the rain ingress.

Left for home, at 1310, as both cameras are rendered useless, for more action. but satisfied, that I had done enough.

Apparently, Helcion turned up at 1400, suggesting, that the second span had been removed and was being landed for a second time.

I wonder if it was the plan to leave the three sections of the seaward side staircase on the landward side or if they ran out of time?

AN accumulation of events leading to delays, then time, otherwise, if it had been a complete hassle free install,

the 3 stair sections would have been fitted.
