Earl Bathurst
Evening all Can anyone help I need to get into my Bachmann brass 2mt to add some weight. There are lots of screws underneath the loco and I don't want to undo the wrong ones. Can anyone help?
Marshall5
Some of my Bachmann/Finescale Brass locos came with a leaflet showing how to dismantle the loco and which screws did what. I'm not at home at the moment to check the box my Ivatt came in but maybe someone else can check theirs and scan it for you. I have an idea that, a couple of years ago, they were available on Bachmann's own website - might be worth checking. Does anyone else remember? Cheers, Ray. Earl Bathurst
Hi Ray Unfortunately there isn't a leaflet in the box. Ill have a look on the Bachmann website but if anyone does know that would be great. Scott
Osgood
A question that interests me too. A quick look on Bachmann's site revealed nothing, but FAQ on the Finescale Brass site suggests the smokebox doors can be opened specifically to allow weight to be added to boiler (none added to keep shipping weight down). My 2MT is tucked away at present but maybe you can check if the door can be opened? I have several Bachmann brass models (2MT, Crab, 101DMU, 8F) but none have instructions for dismantling - will contact Bachmann and see what might be available. MiDAS
The MT has one hidden screw when dismantling the body from the chassis. It is accessed via the chimney, the opening smoke box door makes this process easier. Terry
