leavesontheline
For those that know Richards Railways in Yatton, North Somerset, but haven't visited recently, tomorrow is the last trading day for the current owner who is retiring. He will still be attending shows in the SW area for a while to come though as he continues to sell his stock. Whilst this will be the end of an era, and for a while it looked sadly as though another model shop would close for good, thankfully a new owner has been found for the shop who will be continuing with largely the same ranges which is great news. Another 'Richard' is taking over, and from next Monday the shop will be called Brunel Model Railways - website in development. Really nice to see a small but well stocked shop like this continue to operate. Best wishes to the existing owner in retirement and best of success to the new owner in his new business venture. Rivercider
I used Richards Railways quite a lot to build up my new layout when I returned to the hobby in 2009 and he was very helpful. I tend to visit a number of local shows where he attends as a trader so I will keep a look out, cheers
