Livery of Regent 14 ton tanks?

sej

Recommended Posts

I have found some b/w photos showing a couple of what I think are 14 ton fuel tankers at Hemyock. One is anchor mounted, in "Regent" livery. It appears to be painted black but I have no idea of the colouring of the lettering. It may be white? Does anybody have any idea of what the Regent livery colours may have been and are there any transfers in 7mm around?

Cheers

Simon

The Regent 'house colours' were red, white and blue.  I'm not sure what period you are modelling but IIRC the Airfix B class model was black and had a red, white and blue roundel with "Regent" written across it on the right hand end of the tank.

The Dapol kit is the late 50s class B tank and the Bachmann the earlier 14 ton class A. IIRC the contemporary class B livery for this tank was black with white lettering, but it is long time ago. Later it could have had the coloured logo applied?

I remember that the Regent logo in the early sixties was the red white and blue roundel as seen on the Dapol wagon - I had a kite with the logo, before I was old enough to walk! Funny how some odd things stick in the mind. Does that help at all?  [/Ramble mode off]
