RMweb Premium Blandford1969 Posted April 25, 2016 RMweb Premium Share Posted April 25, 2016 Hi I'm hoping you can help out with some research in relation to the funeral trains of King George V which took place on the 28 January 1936. The Windsor branch was closed after 10.15am and 5 special trains were run. The train carrying his coffin was hauled by 4082 https://www.flickr.com/photos/29644579@N07/26515144956/in/album-72157667559042305/ There were 4 other trains and I am trying to find out the numbers of the engines involved as so far I have come across 2 of the other trains one was certainly hauled by a Hall https://www.flickr.com/photos/29644579@N07/25919013624/in/album-72157667559042305/ Another was hauled by a Castle https://www.flickr.com/photos/29644579@N07/26448791872/in/album-72157667559042305/ I may yet have more to come of these trains, but would really like to tie these negs down. The stock involved is amazing with new Gresley stock, centenary stock etc. I have not managed to find anything on line or in any of my books on the trains that day. Best wishes Duncan
