phil.c
Has anyone got the measurements of a screw coupling please? Phil
avonside1563
That's a bit of a 'how long is a piece of string' question as there's many different types of screw coupling. Have you got a little more information regarding what it's for?

RMweb Gold Rowsley17D Posted April 26, 2016 RMweb Gold Share Posted April 26, 2016 There's a scale drawing of Exactoscale screw-link coupling here: www.finescale.org.uk/pdfs/4CP%20S01A.pdf Edit: to change 3-link to Screw-link I believe the drawing is meant to be printed 100% on A4 paper, then the measurements can be taken from there, but not tried it myself. Grovenor
There's a scale drawing of Exactoscale 3-link coupling here: www.finescale.org.uk/pdfs/4CP%20S01A.pdf Actually its not a 3-link coupling but a screw coupling as was wanted, although it says that the scale is 10:1 it doesn't give any printing size so you can't get any meaningful dimensions off it. phil.c
Thanks all, it's for the GWR 43xx I'm building, a side view of the hook with dimentions would also be good, I found all mesurements on the net a few days ago but forgot to save the link http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/109897-43xx-tender/ http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/68451-pen-y-bryn/page-6&do=findComment&comment=2282637
EKR
Can't you use your browser's history function to find it again?
phil.c
Found it but does anyone produce a close to scale set as some are way too big?
34theletterbetweenB&D
'Screw Coupling'. Yeah, I know that feeling.
Horsetan
Found it but does anyone produce a close to scale set as some are way too big? Probably only Exactoscale. You have to buy a separate pack to change one link to the shorter GW type.
phil.c
Thanks, I've just ordered their GWR working ones, they look very fine.
Horsetan
Thanks, I've just ordered their GWR working ones, they look very fine. They are incredibly fine, based around a 0.5mm dia screw. Careful when handling it - it can be easy to snap, and I don't think C&L sell spare screws in the same way that Exactoscale used to when Bernard Weller ran the business. phil.c
Thinking about it, I fitted two to a kit built 61xx I did around twenty years ago, I left the layout for about twelve years and when I picked that loco up a year or so ago, the couplings had rusted and fell apart.
