28XX
Saw this and fell in love. The glass bricks you can buy today all seem to be 195mm X 195mm so allowing 6mm for mortar, an 8" matrix. Does anyone know if they were this size in 1930's? Scaling the photo and the others I took, this works out likely to be true. The round towers seem to be 15' diameter. A Tesco value mixed spice pot is 54mm so a bit under, but a good basis. More developments to follow.
'CHARD
A true Deco wonder on the Woodville island, Moira Road A511. Or something like that. Iconic structure - so many have been lost to faceless supermarket or apartment developments now. Like this one on the A452, Chester Road in Streetly. I loved it - now demolished for apartments of course. http://flickrhivemind.net/blackmagic.cgi?id=2670397009&url=http%3A%2F%2Fflickrhivemind.net%2FTags%2Ffoden%252Cstreetly%2FInteresting%3Fsearch_type%3DTags%26textinput%3Dfoden%252Cstreetly%26photo_type%3D250%26method%3DGET%26noform%3Dt%26sort%3DInterestingness%23pic2670397009&user=&flickrurl=http://www.flickr.com/photos/8050359@N07/2670397009
