RMweb Gold PaulRhB Posted May 9, 2016 RMweb Gold Share Posted May 9, 2016 These are basically a larger version of the Peco loco lift but available in different lengths up to 560mm at present, a longer one for modern units is on the way according to Peter at DCC Concepts when I asked. It's very similar to the ones people make themselves but drops onto the track like a loco lift rather than butting up to the end. It's sturdy although holding it in the middle will pop the wheels up out of the slot so best to hold at or near the ends. I got mine from Gaugemaster as they were on offer much cheaper than Hattons It also includes a polystyrene cover / cradle and cloth to keep the train in place when stored in the box and it could be used as a service cradle too. The cassette is a snug fit in the 'velour' box so it needs to be eased out carefully at the ends. The velour gives another bit of cushioning from bumps though. Overall a nice instant carrier and good on a small layout like mine for short trains with a loco too. As I said prices vary a bit so shop around as mine were nearly a tenner cheaper. Fits a MPV just right Cover in place A look at the bottom And the slightly posh box!
