RMweb Gold Taz Posted May 25, 2016 RMweb Gold Share Posted May 25, 2016 Hi, I've been building a few Comet coaches recently and I've been using the hinges from the Comet detailing etch. This involves drilling a .5mm hole where the hinge will go to take the pip on the back of the Comet hinge. However I've been thinking that using appropriately sized brass strip might be a better alternative. To do this you need to produce a slot instead of drilling a hole. But I am unsure of the best method to use to produce a slot. Does anyone have any experience who could advise? Thanks
jwealleans
I'm sure you could do it with a very small fretsaw. However I stick with the half mil hole and file a point onto the strip to fit through it. I do prefer sides with hinge holes etched in already, tbh.
