Bernard Lamb
At Salisbury Hall they have several Mosquitos. As it was a fine day yesterday they towed this one out of the hangar for a couple of hours. I was just fortunate to be there at the time. What a magnificent machine. To stop the flaps moving in the wind they made a clamp out of two pieces of plywood and a long bolt. British engineering is alive and well. Bernard
108
What a magnificent machine. Odd colour scheme. And a genius idea to make it mostly from wood.
Graham456
What a magnificent machine. Odd colour scheme. And a genius idea to make it mostly from wood. The yellow is because it is the prototype mosquito and it was that colour when new to distinguish it though the red primer engine covers will be yellow, but there are recon engines just refitted so their a work in progress This place was my choice of stop for a Cuppa on the M25 , far cheeper than the services and only yards from the junction

Bernard Lamb
And Salisbury Hall has a railway conection The Hall itself is a private house and you can only get to the front gate. I did see the duck pond but there were no Mallard present. I was with a GWR fan so made a point of rubbing in the connection with the great man.
