Pete22
Hi, I hope someone can help me.. I am re-numbering some 7 plank open wagons, and am making my own number labels (black rectangle with white print). The wagons will be BR grey, set in the period circa 1962... When viewed from the side, I understand what the numbers are on the LHS of BR open trucks ( eg, 13T = Weight, M123456 = ex LMS + number,) BUT what do the small numbers on the RHS mean ?? ...One model example that I am looking at shows the numbers 6-16 on a small black rectangle but what does this mean ?? Many thanks, Peter...

Fat Controller
That is the Tare Weight of the wagon. This will vary from wagon to wagon, and on the same wagon over time, as things like wheels and buffers are changed.
Pete22
Hi thanks, so this is the weight of the wagon without a load. If the number is 6-16 does this mean the weight is 6 tons and 16 hundredweight ?? Thanks again, Peter
