Ian Abel
Have you looked at/tried the Ratio R541 model? I've built 4 of these and they are quite nice. http://www.peco-uk.com/product.asp?strParents=3340,3344&CAT_ID=3350&P_ID=17873

I find the Dapol body to large, I am looking for some thing which is in scale with Bachmanns vent vans.
Colin parks
Hi Paul, I have built twelve banana vans, one Ratio (LMS design, BR built), one Dapol body on a Parkside chassis and ten from converted Parkside BR 12t plywood-standard van kits (not for the faint-hearted). It has always astounded me why the BR standard banana van has never been available as a kit or RTR with an authentic chassis. It is easy to add a chassis to the Dapol body, though the detail is a bit heavy and there is a flat panel in the bottom l/h corner of the side which is not prototypical and needs removing. The size of the Dapol body is very close to the Parkside van conversions and in a train, very hard to distinguish which is which. Colin (Oh dear, no ,no. Stop liking this post! See below.) Colin parks
RED FACE DEPARTMENT! OK, it has been a long time since I built the wagons and it now turns out the Newhaven Harbour post from where the above picture was taken shows two Parkside wagons. Here is a picture of a converted Parkside wagon and a Dapol-bodied Banana van. (Really.) It seems I did not remove the raised panels on the Dapol body, but I can confirm that it is exactly the same size as the Parkside one. The Dapol strapping is admittedly, a tad heavy, though not bad for 50 year-old tooling. Colin
Flood
I find the Dapol body to large, I am looking for some thing which is in scale with Bachmanns vent vans. The Bachmann vent vans are slightly too small.
