Does anybody have......

Recommended Posts

....... An Athearn HO Budd RDC-2 Dummy or bodyshell that is looking for a home? It MUST be Athearn and an RDC-2 as it is going to be cut about and drastically shortened - the Proto ones are much too long. If you have such a thing please send me a PM - I'm putting this on here as it is too specialised for "Sales and Wants"

Basically what I want to do is to make something like this - a much-cut-down Budd RDC-2 - I don't think The RDC-3 side will cut down and fit to make the non-passenger part of it - unless somebody knows different

This is the RDC-3 and I think the extra door/windows in the plain end will cause problems

I may have located one - thanks to one of our readers - but I won't know till it arrives - Heaven knows what trying to convert a Triang one would be like - not sure if they were HO or OO. It may eventually come down to trying a hack-up of an RDC-3 - but I hope not!

As you say - for the fun of it, and also I have a track plan which includes a tramway that needs a short passenger-carrying vehicle - I could use a short carriage and a loco, but this seemed ideal for the purpose - see Wichards Wharf SMT July 92 and Port Able MTI-8. It is one of those" I Fancy Trying a ......" rather like a transfer caboose - just something that I have and no-one else would want!

CRAIG AND ANDREW - PLEASE IGNORE THE "YOU HAVE MAIL" POSTS - THE PACKAGE THAT ARIVED HAD AN RDC-3 IN IT, AND I THINK THE PROBLEM IS SOLVED
