Photogreycat
The printed circuit board is only connected to the copper tags of the motor by spring loaded copper legs which fail in use. This should be redesigned so that the connection is reliable in use.
steveb860
1. Have you contacted Bachmann about this, rather than relying on them reading this post?? 2. Farish products have their own sub forum.
Stevelewis
Having been into N Gauge for many years ( Long before Graham Farish Poole actually produced n Gauge) I have purchased many Farish Diesels I have never known the wiring method described to cause any problems or deficiencies. These days I rate Farish quite highly certainly equal to Japanese and Continental N Gauge ( Kato, Fleischmann etc)
RMweb Premium Izzy Posted September 27, 2016 RMweb Premium Share Posted September 27, 2016 I agree completely. It is an issue which quite a few Farish owners come across at times and has afflicted a few of my diesels/DMU's. Farish have obviously chosen the design for ease of production and removal of the circuit board if needed at any time. I now solder wire connections between the motor tags and the circuit boards to ensure reliability. Izzy
