Bachmann 8 Ton Cattle Wagons

Recommended Posts

I have a rake of four Bachmann 8 Ton Cattle Wagons, 37-710, 37-710A, 37-712 and 37-712B. 37-710A is described on the box as 'Early', and 37-712B as 'Late' (the other two say neither)post-26987-0-86040800-1476728061.jpgpost-26987-0-76830700-1476728075.jpg, but the four appear identical, except that 37-712 alone has different markings. Can anyone tell me what 'early' and  'late' refer to, please? I assumed it was something to do with the markings, but that doesn't seem to make sense.

It is the markings- from about 1964, the wagon details were enclosed in a 'box', like those in the right-hand photo.

Thanks Brian, but the right hand photo is not described on the box as late. Is it just Bachmann getting mixed up?

I think it might be a case of labels getting mixed up.The 'bauxite' paint colour differs as well,  Most would have kept their early-style lettering until they were scrapped in the late 1960s/early 1970s.
