toffee
Thought I'd give a heads up to the appeal to preserve the prototype CDA There is the original Facebook page which gives slightly more background info https://www.facebook.com/merrygoroundwagonappeal/?fref=nf And there is the Crowdfunding appeal itself http://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/saving-british-rail-engineering-history-353224 I have no connection with the people and the appeal whatsoever, mearly wishing to bring such a good cause to wider attention, I believe these are the people behind the saving of a number of HAAs and the recent saving of the TEA. I also believe they find the process difficult as they have to bid against the scrappers to save a vehicle. The numbers of early air braked wagons left are dropping weekly and CDAs are down to a very few. If you want to look at the real thing in years to come for a model then this is your chance to save one, when she's gone she's gone. I'm putting in a few quid, if another few dozen could also then this historic wagon can be saved. Thanks John.
toffee
5 days to go and just a few hundred pounds short, if you can just spare a tenner then we can all help to save a piece of British Railway history before it's gone.
