Julia
I have some small coaches that I'd like to add lighting to. My layout is all DCC, so for simplicity of control, I'm thinking installing DR80015 function decoders from Digikeijs. They seem to be the best compromise of price/size/performance. What is slightly confusing me is addressing. 95% of the time the coaches will be in fixed rakes, and the lighting will just be the internal stuff, and will be "on" or "off" (complex I know). I had in my head the idea of giving each rake the same address as one of my loco's, then setting it up so function 10 (or any other similarly non f1-f4) turned on the coaches. This saves me having to remember extra addresses, and simplifies things. Any reason not to have multiple decoders all with the same address? What am I missing? Thanks Julia
Pete the Elaner
I don't see why not. I have some locos permanently double headed & use the same address. It seems to work fine.
