JeffP
I've recently received a sample of the individual brake blocks, 3-D printed in resin, from Alan Buttler at Modelu, (http://www.modelu3d.co.uk/) Many will already be familiar with his figures, in all scales, (if you aren't, take a look...they are exquisite). The brake blocks I have here are a sample, no pricing yet decided, and different sizes may be offered. They will do away with the need for laminating brake blocks, do away with thin, unrealistic etched brake blocks, and, above all, do away with the danger of shorts between wheel treads and brakes. The pictures show the brake blocks in 7mm scale, but I believe other scales may be made available. The writing on the blocks is even visible under 10x magnification, YLC477. I reckon these are the way forward. I have nothing to do with Modelu, other than as a satisfied customer.
Miss Prism
The future would be even brighter if it were dark grey.
Allegheny1600
Well done for managing to take decent photos of what must still (even at 7mm scale) be pretty small objects. I have seen and examined Modelu 4mm figures and it's hard to see the print lines, so you've definitely got some magnification going on there. Cheers, John. JeffP
Just took them at minimum range with a Panasonic Lumix TZ40, then resized as they were too big for this site.
