Layout ready to go for the weekend at the NEC. And looking forward to it.

We’re C50 on the plan

It’s been a long wait but I hope this weekend the show is a success for all to get us back after a tough few years.

See some of you there

Steve.

All done and dusted

it was even easy getting the layout loaded and off home.

Really enjoyed the show. Good to be back at the Warley show at the NEC.

The layout worked well it was mainly operating errors if it went wrong.

Here’s a couple of pics I took yesterday afternoon.

The layouts next outing is Glasgow next February.

I have been cleaning and titivating the layout ready for a magazine photo shoot this Friday.

The layouts next outing is Modelrail Scotland. In the main it’ll be the rolling stock and locomotive wheels that need checking over and cleaning.

Hopefully see some of you in Glasgow.

The photo shoot went well and it gave me the chance to look at everything and clean the track and box it up ready for Glasgow

This is one of my pics with my phone.

I know Mr Nevard’s pictures will be a lot better.

We’re stand B7 at Glasgow near to the exhibitors tea place.

As usual for me I skipped to the last couple of pages and loved the pic of the layout. I was then puzzled when I read that OO gauge stock wouldn’t be suitable - so I thought it must be EM or something. Impressed, I headed back to the beginning and… N Gauge???!!! Utterly brilliant! You’ve done an amazing job. I look forward to seeing it in real life at Glasgow - CalMac Ferries willing. 🤞

...it arrived behind a Class 25 which is out of shot to the left.

At the end of the show today Farmers Drove went home with its new owner. Yes I’ve sold it on.

The last train run in my ownership was a Class 105 on a BLS tour which ran into Keeling’s sidings and the departure back to March.

I am quite certain the new owner is going to keep it on the show circuit.

Thanks everyone who had helped me with the layout and thanks for the comments passed by yourselves on this thread.

Hi folks,

I watched this layout for a while on friday morning and it was not only good to look at but worked flawlessly.  Rather enjoyed the somewhat forlorn look of the Met-Camm unit shuttling in an out.  I hope that the new owner does keep this one out on the circuit.

Regards,

Alex.

I have to report that I am the new keeper of this wonderful layout, so it's in safe'ish hands 😜😜

Yes it will be still available for exhibitions as soon as I've built a new support structure for it, because Steve needed the one it was on at Glasgow for his other layouts, however it's having it's first outing in my ownership rather earlier than expected. Due to a layout having to pull out of the Calne Show on 15th/16th April, Farmers Drove will be drafted in as a replacement.

So I have 3 weeks to build the support structure and lighting rig, sort out my stock, add staples to Peco wagons so the uncouplers work, oh and find a controller to use. So not a lot. 😱😱

Regards

Neal.

But hope the show goes well for you and the layout.

Farmers Drove is featured in the latest issue of Modelrail.

The article and having the photographs taken were one of the last things I did before it got sold on.

I know Neal has bookings for the layout.

Thanks Steve.
