I know very little, other than I believe it's Departmental number was 52 Someone must know something, all help appreciated ... Photos of the loco would be such a bonus !l According to the book, 'BR Departmental locos 1948-68' [ian allan] the locos were dept 52 [1950-61], 86 [Ruston DS88 1961-65] & 15097 [1949-50] Dept 52 Was FC Hibberd 4wDM built 1950 originally BR 11104, picture on p23. It had a 52hp EnglishNational Gas DA4 engine, 3 speed chain drive and weighed 11t. It wasrenumbered as departmental No. 52 in May 1953 under NER(CCE) W. HArtlepoolPW Depot. Staffordshire Posted August 17, 2023 Author Share Posted August 17, 2023 Having made progress with this build and approaching the painting stage , I have a few furher questions .. * What livery (colour) was this loco painted in it's BR days ?? * Although hard to believe, was it lined ?? and if so what colour and where ? * Did it carry and lettering , eg Departmental etc,etc ? * Did it carry it 's number ?
