JohnH
I was wondering if you can use the 'Fill/Hatch' options on QCAD to quickly create grid type walkways for tanker models or do you have to draw the lines in manually and then fill them in as normal? I was hoping to use one of the 'NET' options(or whatever)on the Hatch menu and alter the scale to recreate the grid. Thanks for any help.
RMweb Premium Michael Edge Posted March 10, 2017 RMweb Premium Share Posted March 10, 2017 I don't know anything about QCAD but I did try using various hatch fills in Turbocad. The results were inconsistent and somewhat unpredictable so I went back to drawing them with lines.
JohnH
Thanks Michael. I've been experimenting with the 'Hatch' fills and they do seem to be rather unpredictable on QCAD as well... I'll just manually draw the grids from now on. Incidentally,(and I realise it may well be different in Turbocad) could you simply use a wider line width on the relevant layer to draw the metal grids rather than have to outline and then fill later? Thanks again.
Nicktoix
Draw the gaps not the lines and just copy vertically and horizontally to suit. Nick
RMweb Premium Michael Edge Posted March 11, 2017 RMweb Premium Share Posted March 11, 2017 Using different line widths in Turbocad works as long as they are set to "world" dimensions. I also have to take care when re-scaling etches as the line width doesn't scale.
