I have waited three years to see if the crane jib does actually go up - so has the fireman ! I don’t think the instruction manual has helped!

That makes two of us!!

Now the Castle is active let’s get back to the barge.

Main focus today:

Basic

So with a bit of work like using printer paper like this…

We ended up with this

Beauty of using paper is it bends so easily so long as you don’t get it wet….

Interesting clamping mechanism being deployed there Kevin. Hope you've patented it

Are there going to be some rivets on the metalwork for us to count? 😉

Or would they be bolts? Either way, I like the way you've added the visible bits of the pintles and gudgeons metalwork, a big improvement on how it came.

Thanks.

I will draw them on with a pencil or sharpie. Whichever looks the best.

I have a kit of a small craft with moulded bolts/rivets on the metalwork, so there is some relief which can be drybrushed at the painting stage. I don't know if it was from kitbashing this or another project but I did think if I wanted to add large boltheads to a model, I'd use a fine awl to create a tiny indentation and then use a cocktail stick to dab glue into these to create circular protrusions to simulate these. But pencil would probably be easier!

I have learnt that I must keep my pawls on the ruffles.  (I wonder if this applies to the old football rattles and the primitive ratchet inside)

This is a fascinating project. Will Little Muddle basin get an extension so you can display all three vessels?
