I think the horse has bolted with his milk float, so he is waiting patiently while Mr Plod is making enquiries. It could be some time but we’re used to that aren’t we ?
It’s a long time since we’ve seen this delightful  cul de sac - and the cobbler. More please !

On a western layout, he must be called Ernie, surely. Looks like his cart is missing though. . . .

 

(Although there is a difference in speed between LM and Ernie)

It’s so long since we saw this area I’d forgotten the village shop with Arkwright standing outside hoping somebody would buy a paper. Todays headline ‘Mussolini invades Ethiopia’ should get some trade!

Haven't finished the plaque as I went back to the drawing board, it looked like it was painted on and not carved.
