Popular Post KNP
Technical problem I'm afraid. An engineer has been called because they can't uncouple the Toad from the wagons. Slight delay.... But fear not our intrepid photographer has dashed across to the other side of the world layout and caught a passing express for you whilst we wait for the engineer! Not sure which loco but it looks like a Grange has just gone past But look what's bringing up the rear. I suspect this milk tank is empty and being dropped off further down the line.. Our photographer even managed to get a close up in all the excitement Even has a lamp iron fitted! 48

Popular Post KNP
Odd one now. Getting ready a second UD 6 wheeler that is based on the old Lima model….you know the one that has the brake shoes in line with the chassis and one where near the wheels!!!! Now removed on this picture with only the outside ones fitted at the moment inline with the wheels. Brought some Fox Transfers for it but the red is much darker than on their website which looked quite close to Parkside ones. Did think it might lighten when put on the off white tank but no even the transfer film was cream…old set?…not sure but I only got them last week.Had to tint the tank to nearly hide the film colour!!!’ Left hand model is the one is question and the right one is Dapol model with Parkside transfers. Annoyed of Bicester here. Quite a difference isn’t it. Can’t buy separately the PC91 set of transfers that come with the Parkside 4 wheeler model. Anybody out there got a set of UD transfers that I can I can have, willing to pay!!! Edited November 22, 2023 by KNP 9

RMweb Premium Siberian Snooper Posted November 22, 2023 RMweb Premium Share Posted November 22, 2023 Kevin, Have you tried ringing Peco technical department? I have some good, if not cheap results, from doing that. 1 1

Different colour, to be sure, but it's also a different typeface and a different logo. They didn't have Pantone in the 1930's - maybe it's just two different signwriters with different batches of paint? Possibly it's actually prototypical - companies do change their logos - in the same way that you can happily have the words "Great Western" and a shirtbutton on two different locomotives on the same layout. Personally, I like the variation it brings. 4 5 1
Popular Post KNP
The Engineers fixed it. Apparently it was the screw flange stuck to a thread plate held in place with to much sticky grease. With a bit of help with a big thump from his gentle persuader it come undone. So we are back on track.....literally! Wagons now on loop and engine being uncoupled, with no issues I hope, so it can run around. Exciting, isn't it? 37
Ponthir28
Had a moment of panic then. I thought the engineers fixed the door. 8

Tortuga
I think they look good as they are and you should leave them alone. 23 hours ago, KNP said: Two United Dairies tanks await attention at Little Muddle. The older livery (seen on the left-hand tank) was gradually replaced during overhaul by a simpler livery, as displayed by the recently out-shopped wagon on the right. Popular Post KNP
Hunting through the archives I found these two pictures. In November 2015 I brought these three Lima milk tank wagons for less than £10 off flea bay with a plan to convert them to??? I didn't have an actual plan at the time???? But do any of us when doing an impulse buy? And by February 2016 I had converted one by repainting as an old filthy unloved wagon but just look at where the brakes are, no where near the wheels as part of the moulding for the chassis side and then non in the middle. What we lived with all those years ago? Just in case its not clear the original is on the left and the reworked one is one the right.....! for those of you with a B&W monitor. And now in November 2023 another one nears completion....you just need to be patient but 8 years.....! lucky I knew where I had stored them? More brake shoes do need to be added between the wheels but I wanted to see if it was worth the effort after re-aligning the front ones... Yes this is the same Lima former ED one with a revamp and the off colour UD Fox transfers.... Chassis transfers to add. Moral of this story Never, Ever throw anything away because one day, just one day it might get a second life? Note. One thing I have noticed is look at the picture quality of the first two taken on an iPhone 5S compared to the last one which is the iPhone 12...quite a difference. MrWolf
That's a serious improvement and I'm always impressed with what a few details and careful painting can achieve. I very rarely throw anything out, nor do my friends, useful bits and pieces are generally given or bartered for things we do need. 4 1
