Tonight the role of Sid will be played by Mr Wolf and the role of Desiree by Miss R.

We keep the curtains drawn tight.

Sorry! 😉

I'm thinking it was you knocked the dustbins over last Tuesday, not the neighbour's dog after all....

I do like the composition of that shot, with all of the lines converging on the water tower, it draws you in from the bulk of the loco to the mass of details around the crane wagon and beyond.

I've got a Parkside set that I can send you Kevin.  PM me your address please.

Thanks

I’ll do that when I am back home in an hour or two.

PM Now sent as I’m liking to be waiting a lot longer than first thought

Quite a difference isn’t it.

Different colour, to be sure, but it's also a different typeface and a different logo.

They didn't have Pantone in the 1930's - maybe it's just two different signwriters with different batches of paint?

Possibly it's actually prototypical - companies do change their logos -  in the same way that you can happily have the words "Great Western" and a shirtbutton on two different locomotives on the same layout.

Personally, I like the variation it brings.

I think they look good as they are and you should leave them alone.

Two United Dairies tanks await attention at Little Muddle. The older livery (seen on the left-hand tank) was gradually replaced during overhaul by a simpler livery, as displayed by the recently out-shopped wagon on the right.

That's a serious improvement and I'm always impressed with what a few details and careful painting can achieve.

I very rarely throw anything out, nor do my friends, useful bits and pieces are generally given or bartered for things we do need.

The thing that immediately struck me as I looked at this picture, was how empty (as in unpopulated) the countryside looked compared to more recent ones of the same view.

The Engineers fixed it.

Apparently it was the screw flange stuck to a thread plate held in place with to much sticky grease.

With a bit of help with a big thump from his gentle persuader it come undone.

So we are back on track.....literally!

Wagons now on loop and engine being uncoupled, with no issues I hope, so it can run around.

Exciting, isn't it?

Strictly speaking that should be a job for a fitter back in those days, when did engineers come into the railway vocabulary....?
