RMweb Gold rodent279 Posted April 11, 2017 RMweb Gold Share Posted April 11, 2017 I know about the 4 wheel railbuses, but given the German love of 6-wheel passenger cars, were any 6-wheel railbuses built?

TonyA
The Prussian's had a couple. There was a 3-axle steam railcar built in 1908, the Bauart Stoltz, and a 3-axle battery railcar converted from a compartment coach. Details can be found here. http://www.reichsbahntriebwagen.de/stoltz%20dtw.htm http://www.reichsbahntriebwagen.de/pr%20at1.htm There were also the Prussian ETA 177 Wittfeld two-car sets that were initially built as 2-axle but rebuilt to 3-axle. https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wittfeld-Akkumulatortriebwagen All links are in German but Google can translate.
