robin1963
Hello Peeps, Just staring my new N gauge layout but I am having one big problem. I just cannot get the insulating rail joiners to fit onthe points and even less luck when trying to add a piece of flexi track, has anyone else had this problem. Sorry, I don't do N gauge, but you might get more helpful answers if you say which track system you are using.

Andrew P
Have you trimmed off the Chairs at the ends of the Rails? It has to be done with ALL OO / N Flexie Track in order to fit the Fish Plates.

Yeah done that i just cannot get the damn joiners to slide over the end of the rail, the metal joiners are fine slide straight on no problem but the insulating ones just don't seem to wanna go on. Andrew P
Silly question, but are they the correct ones? i.e Code 80, and NOT Code 55 Fine Scale.
bridgiesimon
same joiners used for both std and fine track in N, sometimes I find you need to file the inside edges of the rail a little to ensure the joiners slip on then push on with needle nosed pliers. Best wishes Simon

RMweb Gold Enterprisingwestern Posted May 15, 2017 RMweb Gold Share Posted May 15, 2017 Stupid question time, apologies, but, You're not trying to push them all the way on and pull them back are you? The pip in the middle will stop that. Mike.
