RMweb Gold DaveF Posted March 26, 2010 RMweb Gold Share Posted March 26, 2010 Where was this taken (and what is the service)? The photo was taken in August 1967. Clue: Not all European trains are restricted to operating in one country. I suspect this could be a fairly hard one to answer. European location Photo from Aug 1967 David Eastern France, though the train is German I believe. The positioning of the 'G' (garage) sign suggests left-hand running, which would rule out the ex Alsace-Lorraine network. The line is electrified, which rules out the Paris- Mulhouse line. Somewhere just east of Dijon, perhaps?

Somewhere just east of Dijon, perhaps? The G sign in this case is misleading, it is in fact right hand running, in Alsace Lorraine. (I have another photo of taken a few seconds earlier coming towards me).
