faa77
Seen that Hornby have released R6832 (Seacow YGB Departmental) for 2017. Is it much better than the previous model R6288? From pictures it doesn't look much different?
YesTor
They do appear identical. To be fair, I cannot imagine for one moment that Hornby have done anything to upgrade this model anyway. This latest release features all the separate etched details, sprung buffers etc etc, so I'd imagine that's going to be as good as it gets? It's an excellent model in my opinion, not sure what else you might have been expecting on this latest release?
RMweb Premium Hilux5972 Posted July 17, 2017 RMweb Premium Share Posted July 17, 2017 Yes it's the same as the model they released in 2010/2011(I think, don't have my catalogues to hand). It's a great model and could t really be bettered I don't think, other than having working doors at the bottom lol.

If working doors meant they were fragile enough to fall off, this would not be an improvement.

deltic79
The model tooling is identical, the livery on the latest release is back dated to 80s/early 90s compared to the previous model.
Jim76
Is this the Hornby or previous Lima version? I recall the original Hornby Dutch ones had post privitisarion style electrification warning triangles.
RMweb Premium Hilux5972 Posted July 18, 2017 RMweb Premium Share Posted July 18, 2017 I thought that the Seacow was Hornbys new tooled one. I always thought that the Sealion was the ex-Lima model.
