Final update for 2019. The chip is installed but I will need to try it on the club layout as I remain analogue. Time now to seal up the cab and tackle the roof. First task: find the roof. This often happens when a project drags on into a third year, bits that have been safely stored away cannot be found. Eventually, after an hour's tidying up I found it, hiding in plain sight, in the first place I had looked, exactly where it should have been. Had it been a Hunslet, I would have given up after five minutes and cut out a new one, but this is a very carefully cut item that had to fit exactly. Full marks to whoever originally free this kit because it was a much closer fit than I had dared hope for. A little panel beating is required as the cab sides have to curve round into the roof profile and solder provided the lead loading over the joint. Tomorrow I shall clean up the joint and work out how to correct the collateral damage to the glazing before getting it into paint.

Apologies for the lack of photos. Santa brought a new tablet and I am struggling to locate the pictures I took this afternoon. Day ends as it started.
