Quarryscapes
I've been curious for a while as to how well this would work, so I devised a D Link and hook in 16mm scale to see if it would actually work - it does! So I've now modelled up the whole buffer/coupling assembly of the FR 2 Ton Wagon with integral link and hook and have made it available for sale. Not cheap, but More accurate and less work than the supplied castings from Slater's (in their 2 ton wagon kit as shown below).
RMweb Gold Enterprisingwestern Posted June 10, 2018 RMweb Gold Share Posted June 10, 2018 Now, if you could do screw couplings in 4mm to that standard! Mike.

Quarryscapes
Now, if you could do screw couplings in 4mm to that standard! Mike. It's not the size of wire that would cause problems with that but the clearance between parts - if you could put up with an oversized hook you could make working 3 links, just. The images here illustrate 1mm diameter for the D-link in a hole of 1.5mm diameter in the hook.
Quarryscapes
The latest attempt - a complete LNWR buffer/coupling in 16mm. Works like a charm!
Quarryscapes
Finally I have another wagon so I can actually test out the coupling function of the bronze hook and link, It works, and is no less fiddly than 3 links in 4mm!
