Heljan detailing bits.

On my 4mm Westerns I seem to remember using some fairly fresh superglue.

All the Heljan locos I have seem to have their detailing bits made of some plastic that doesn't really take to any form of glue that well, I also tried several plastic solvents which had little effect.

My conclusion was that at least applied carefully it served to reduce the play in holes into which the detailing parts are fitted, although none of the bits are truly firm.

Another vote for superglue - go for the thicker variety rather than the really thin runny stuff to avoid tragedies

And check parts fit with a dry run before offering them up with glue involved.......!
