LJC
I've inherited a Bachmann Class 66 loco that has been run on a track which has been placed on the carpet. As a consequence the axle ends are heavily contaminated with fibres and hairs etc which I can't unpick whilst the wheels are in situ. Not sure if the cover on the underside of the bogie between the wheels can be removed or do I need to remove/drop the complete bogie from the chassis. Advise please. RMweb Gold Phil Bullock Posted November 10, 2018 RMweb Gold Share Posted November 10, 2018 No need to take bogie off - the bogie frame will just prise off, and you can then remove the wheels, clean and reassemble might help - but dont break it like in the video! LJC
Phil thanks for that. Basically just pull the frames downwards ??????
RMweb Gold Phil Bullock Posted November 10, 2018 RMweb Gold Share Posted November 10, 2018 A thin flat bladed screwdriver might help ease them off and down Pretty similar on all Bachmann diesels Phil
PenrithBeacon
Where are the latches? I ask because that's where you need to put your screwdriver. The Bachmann 25 has them on both ends of the bogies
RMweb Gold Phil Bullock Posted November 10, 2018 RMweb Gold Share Posted November 10, 2018 Have done this myself for others but dont own anything so recent as a 66 to post a photo am afraid! Perhaps someone else could oblige?Phil
LJC
I thought I could see latches at either end of the bogie and inserted the screwdriver, there was no give therefore didn't go any further in case I snapped something.
