00 Dapol Class 122 Strange Noise on DCC

My Dapol Class 122 was a perfect runner on DC. Then I put in a 21 pin decoder and now it has this loud noise when it runs. Does anyone know what might be causing it and if there are any remedies. Has anyone else had something similar on their 122?

Model - Dapol Class 122

Controller - Bachmann EZ Command

Chip - Zimo MX638D

Try removing it and putting back the DC pin ?

Does it go away ?

 

Usually i find an issue, is related to something i may have recently worked, maybe the chip was pushed in too hard and now somethings catching.. have a look around that area, see if something is trapped or too tight perhaps when the body was refitted ? - are the bogies freely moving, is something catching the shaft etc... simpliest things are usually the most common.
