Dummy Hymeks

Can anyone tell me what is actually inside the N Dapol dummy Hymeks please ?

 

Are the bogies fully functional with pickups and gear towers (ie identical to the powered models) ?

 

One of my powered Meks has developed a problem with intermittently jamming gears. Thinking this might be an easy way of replacing the bogie and providing me with a future source of spares. As a byproduct, my model is from the first batch with the pizza cutter wheels so I should get finer wheelsets as well

Mine is D7072 and appears to have everything except a motor, shafts and worm gears. Full circuit board working lights, and full gear tower on the bogies.

Mine is the same, everything bar the motor

 

The motor is £18 and the worm gears are £7.50 each, in case anyone was thinking of restoring theirs to full power

Hi The bogies have geared wheelsets and top gear only. This way no gear drag when being pulled /pushed.

If it's any consolation, my memory of real Hymeks suggests that final drive/gearbox problems were not unknown...

My dummy Hymek does not seem the same as the powered ones. The frame is plastic, whereas the powered ones have Mazac castings.

 

You can buy various parts from DCC Supplies including bogies.
