Now an email update has been issued for the 00 gauge version, it would be good for there to be an N update too. Have not seen any recent marketing of this proposal at all, so I suspect that it is withering steadily. I have placed my expressions of interest with DJModels, and originally with Durham Trains of Stanley, so should be on Dave Jones’ list for email updates.

Try it on a piece of track not connected to the layout to eliminate the possibility of a fault which is layout track related.

I think that Oxford ship items as each batch is completed. Can't think of a good reason to hold back stock, which costs money, and like others they might release the least popular livery first, to catch more early adopters. They have more frequent deliveries than say Bachmann, because the container/s share with the Diecast models which amount to 20-30 new items per month. I suspect that they ran one line for the N7, and to avoid confusion with different fittings, completed the pale grey version before starting on the next one.

They are in the photos section of the members only Oxford Diecast Collectors Facebook Group. The version on Oxford's website will be uploaded after the London Toyfair, and shortly after that the catalogue will be online as well as a .pdf. I believe that is when the trade lists with images will go out as well.

Depends what you mean by a normal Mk3; there are already loco-hauled in blue/grey livery.

I'd forgotten about the 1/148 scale cars, another one I tried to support. Prompted me to look back over the last five years at the end of year reports, which made for interesting reading. The quote from the 2016 end of year report makes a specific reference to crowdfunding policy after the 92s are delivered. "This locomotive was planned by me when I was with a previous employer so came as no surprise to many to see me announce it as a crowdfunding venture. On the back of the 71 this project has come almost to tooling stage more quickly and wonderfully funded in both gauges by you the modeler who recognize my expertise in such models, and my full award winning history of producing models many of you run today on your layouts. It is really encouraging for me to see that you have faith in my ability, and the fact that I am trying to make a living doing this full time without an alternate source of income, and for that I thank you. I have, due to a wonderful factory, negotiated great prices for the fully specified model, and I have lots of things that I cannot announce at this time that will blow you away regarding detail, painting, and other development I cannot even hint at, at this time. Once the 92 is completed and delivered in both gauges I will not do another crowdfunded model for a good few years until the rather buoyant production and manufacture of assorted models from third parties etc has slowed down or plateau’d. It has just come up on another forum that people are unaware of the switch from the the original DToS project to the wholly DJModels one, including those who signed up with DToS. So the communication and publicity about the change has not hit the target, and is probably another reason why the numbers of EOIs is lower now.

Kernow had no involvement with the N gauge Class 17 project. Now the 00 gauge Class 74 might be a different matter.....

Maybe the people focussing on the high price of the original APT-P offer were just casual observers who were never going to buy whatever the specification or price. The reason for the spec/price revision was because of insufficient interest at the higher price. The collapse of the Class 17 project won't have helped confidence in the DJModels brand, although all those who had paid upfront to get the project moving again were fully refunded. But there seems to be a familiar trend developing with all of Dave's projects which interest me (class 17, Class 23, HUO, Shark, APT-P), so I am beginning to doubt whether I will ever own a DJModels product. I know only too well that raising awareness and hitting the target with publicity is a challenge, but I have the distinct feeling that for the N gauge market RMweb is not the best available amongst the online choices, and that ignoring some of the alternatives has alienated people too. With RMWeb now set aside by Dave Jones, I wonder how interest in the remaining products is going to be stimulated, or whether they will just be abandoned.

I asked Dave Jones about this at Warley. He said that after the redesign of the N gauge APT-P to get the price down, he now has fewer expressions of interest than through the original Durham Trains of Stanley full fat project. So what is stopping the people who supported the original concept from supporting the revised and cheaper version? I was in on the 14 car original version and have "expressed an interest" in the current cheaper version to make up a 14 car train. Apart from the activity on RMWeb I have seen scant publicity about this project since I picked up a flyer at Warley 2017. Although I have tried to encourage interest on various forum websites, without anything substantial to offer to people it is a hard sell. I think it is unlikely to happen without some major communication and publicity initiative from DJModels.

The RevolutioN flyer at Warley said " Order book opening late 2018. Delivery Q2-3 2019". No need to panic given the order book will not close until just before production begins.

Mine is D7072 and appears to have everything except a motor, shafts and worm gears. Full circuit board working lights, and full gear tower on the bogies.

The later versions of the BR Corporate Identity Manual are very hard to find and are closely guarded by design professionals. I can recall them including livery details into the sectorisation period. So who has one, or whose is Oxford accessing?

Colour rendition is always a problem. Lighting conditions, differing eyes, recording media all affect how we see things. The original black and white Z cars series used pale yellow cars so they would look white on screen. I remember seeing a demo at Granada Studios where the cameras struggled to see blue at all. I think I would go for the dark green on KAR120C.
