Night Train
Does anyone have any experience with the ALD Models and their 02 diesel locomotive kit? It looks to be a hybrid kit with high end 3D printed parts and a laser cut metal chassis. Pricing also seems reasonable and there is also an option for a Gauge 1 version. Guest teacupteacup
It seems to be quite a comprehensive kit but Im unsure how much surface prep will be needed. Looking at the 4mm version built back in June's BRM, there is a lot of lining which is a feature of 3D printing
Ruston
I have no experience of this kit but from looking at the photo it's certainly better than the Tower Models version, which is about a scale foot too wide and the front of the engine compartment and radiator grille both look wrong. Not to mention the chunky window surrounds and other faults. I think that if you do have to sand down the 3D print lines on this one it would be worth it against the faults of the Tower version. Marshall5
There was a review of this kit published in the last year - possibly in the G0G Gazette? ISTR the only negative comment was how 4 wheels and a motor/gearbox added 180 quid to the price of the basic kit. Ray.

PRMRP also do a kit in 7mm/ O gauge. A bit basic but can be tarted up and straightforward to build. Dougal
