RMweb Gold TravisM Posted December 27, 2018 RMweb Gold Share Posted December 27, 2018 I used to live in Uxbridge in the early to mid 80’s, I thought I’d build a representation of Vine St station had it not closed and was still in use in that time frame. I recently purchased some Tim Horn budget baseboards, so I’m looking for track plans of the station as I want to have the two platforms still in use, though one of them mainly for parcels with BR Brutes on the platform. I’ve got a Dapol Class 121 in blue and grey, a Heljan Class 128 (Scooby Doo) and a Bachmann Class 117, again in blue and grey on order. I was going to get a Class 47 or 50 on parcels work but decided against as I think that’s all I need as I want to keep the layout simple. Any helpful suggestions would be welcome.
RMweb Premium Mark Forrest Posted December 27, 2018 RMweb Premium Share Posted December 27, 2018 There are some aerial photos which might help on the Disused Stations website. http://www.disused-stations.org.uk/u/uxbridge_vine_street/
Pete the Elaner
L49 on this forum modelled Uxbridge Vine Street in OO about 20-25 years ago but he may still have some photos.
RMweb Premium Flying Pig Posted December 27, 2018 RMweb Premium Share Posted December 27, 2018 (edited) Signalbox.org has a signalling plan: https://signalbox.org/~SBdiagram.php?id= 63 This my rationalisation, based on John Hinson's drawing. The branch has been singled, but the Down line has been retained as far as the outer crossover to make a goods loop and a single siding remains, most likely as a coal concentration yard, for a bit of additional interest. Uxbridge.png That looks great and instead of a coal concentration yard, a parcels/Royal Mail distribution depot for “Scooby” to run into. jmh67
I like this idea! When I worked in Uxbridge for almost two years in 1998-2000, I always wondered how the area might look if the railway was still in operation, maybe with an extra halt serving Brunel University. A pity that there was so little left of it. So, good luck with your project!

A pity that there was so little left of it. So, good luck with your project! I decided to go with the pre or just after the Network SouthEast start up date as I think it would still retain the two platforms but if I modelled the present day, it would likely just be a single platform with a bus stop style shelter. malcolmcelyn
I seem to remember Uxbridge Vine Street being in an issue of Great Western Railway Journal. Not sure which issue though. Found it: GWRJ Uxbridge Vine Street Stanley Jenkins, Chris Turner Issue 13 (1995) p.530 The history, development, traffic and operation of this branch Tags: drawings / diagrams, site plans, stations, stations, timetables / timetabling Edited September 9, 2019 by malcolmcelyn

Yup - signalbox.org had a complete overhaul earlier this year and older links to diagrams have gone to join the choir invisibule.
