shortliner
I hear that there is an advert in May 2010 RMC for this - It seems that at the moment only the diesel loco (with an improved mech) is being offered - thought it might be of interest to our narrow gauge bretheren
RMweb Premium Nile Posted April 25, 2010 RMweb Premium Share Posted April 25, 2010 Do you mean this? new minitrains I've not seen one in the flesh yet,but I know someone that has ordered one.
shortliner
Yes, Roco made the originals for Europe, and AHM who imported and sold them in USA - At least they are more affordable than the new Swiss Eggerbahn models
bertiedog
I hope the mechanism is better, the old one was a bit basic, and those Swiss Eggerbahn type locos can hardly be a good seller at the price.
alastairq
and yes..I still have my old 5101 and 5102 tippers...and one or two of the wheel sets actually have very realistic rust weathering....real rust!
RMweb Premium Nile Posted April 27, 2010 RMweb Premium Share Posted April 27, 2010 I've had some feedback about one of these.Operation is described as smooth and quiet, but there are some reservations about the mechanism.
Guest Phil
Ahh - funny you mention this. Last week I was in Gulf Coast Model Railroad in Sarasota FL and spotted the familiar diesels and wagons. The proprietor told me that someone "Up north" had reintroduced them with a new mechanism, and they sell well he is planning to update the old 0-4-0 saddle tank too. wollastonblue
Has anyone any experience of these new sets, as I have seen them on the Model Junction, and quite fancy one?
