RMweb Premium Ian Morgan Posted April 29, 2019 Author RMweb Premium Share Posted April 29, 2019 (edited) We had a nice day out with the Royal Albert Bridge layout, supporting a local event in Basingstoke. The Brookvale hall are raising funds to build a replica of the Thornycroft works clock to go on top of their lift tower. This was a big feature of the former Thornycroft works that once ruled the lives of so many people in Basingstoke. All that remains of the works is an overhead crane that now guards the entrance to Morrisons car park. The layout, which is still very incomplete, ran well, and elicited some nice comments from the visitors. There is a lot to do before its real debut at TINGS later in the year.
