ddoherty958
Hi so I have a Hornby 0-3-0 that I've had for a while, the normal Hornby 0-3-0 chassis. I have another one which runs fine. I’ve cleaned the track, wheels and pickups and it’s still not running. Any thoughts?
RMweb Premium TheQ Posted April 26, 2019 RMweb Premium Share Posted April 26, 2019 A 3 wheeled loco that's original, I presume you mean 0-6-0... If it's an old loco, it could well be dirt on the commutator. Time to take the body off, and clean it.

I’ve been taking it apart and t think it’s a dodgy decoder because when I put in a different 4-pin decoder it runs when I touch the pickups on the track. However now that the motor’s back on the chassis it’s not going. Huh.
AMJ
Some of the Hornby locos with the unique 4 pin decoder sockets I have rewired with a Bachmann 6 pin harness so that you can then fit any 6 pin chip. I did this with the Sentinel 4wDH and have a mini silver in ir.
