Also at Shildon will be Locomotion Models - with some of their range running on the Shildon layout alongside other models of engines in the National Collection. Look out for City of Truro and DP1 Deltic Pioneer which are both available at the shop in the museum. Other models joining these two will be Oliver Cromwell and possibly King George V. A link to the shop in the museum is below;

Operating the Shildon layout at the far end turned out to be quite eventful but fun - some joins causing the odd derailment and the wiring and route setting keeping us occupied. Will see if I can get some photos uploaded soon, but I understand there has been a record number of people there over the weekend.

Looking forward to October.

Hello all,

The members and friends of Shildon Model Railway club will be running the Shildon layout on DCC with sound again for those visiting the Flying Scotsman event this weekend.

There will be a number of steam engines from transition period, with some current steam engines and those of the National Collection on display. Also, the New North Eastern Railway collection, run by myself will also be running.

Just a small addition to what will be an interesting visit to the Museum.
