298
Has anyone tried using something like this (but RJ12 obviously) to provide a socket to plug a Powercab into...? I don't need the full NCE faceplate on the layout and would transfer the box it is mounted in between layouts, but still need a convenient and professional looking socket on the fascia. Having had issues with inadvertently using an aftermarket RJ lead between the handset and faceplate, I don't want to rely on something that might not be reliable. WIMorrison
That is just a RJ-45 M/F extension and there is absolutely no reason it shouldn't work
RAF96
Depends how it is wired - straight through or crossover... https://images.app.goo.gl/CxL3vGuZaJpEpDLo8

Haven't seen one of these wired as a crossover

Haven't seen one of these wired as a crossover As long as the extension cable is a straight through it does not matter if the Powercab's own cable is straight though or crossed ( I think that is crossed) The end result is the same. I know it works as I do the same thing myself.
