RMweb Gold 46444 Posted May 2, 2010 RMweb Gold Share Posted May 2, 2010 Evening, I'm in the process of building my first N gauge layout based on the Looe Valley Line. Nothing complex, just an oval of track with a loop for the hidden sidings. The station will be loosely based around St.Keyne however there is one problem. The area is surrounded by copious amounts of trees! I need to source or make a lot of them by the looks of things. What would be the easiest and cheapest way of doing this? Fots below to give you an idea of the scale of the task! http://staceys-fots.fotopic.net/p52485064.html http://staceys-fots.fotopic.net/p52485015.html Also, does anyone know of a suitable source of lighting to match the ones in the fots? Cheers. Mark
johnteal
lighting, the pictures look to have a blue cast to them, I would suggest trying an aquarium shop for a fluorescent tube, they have various types that bring out different colours in the fish. RMweb Gold 46444 Posted May 4, 2010 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted May 4, 2010 Morning to you both, Thanks for your replies. The tree/shrub making site refs are excellent. I need to find an aquatic shop for some of those fibres I think. As for the blue lights John I meant the lamp posts-sorry for the mis-understanding, however you're right I do need some aquatic lighting above the scenic section to highlight the detail and plan to to do this. Think this is especially important in N scale. As for the lamp posts I haven't seen anything to scale so I could scratch build them as well. Cheers.
