Meldon - site facilities

Hi,

Meldon Quarry is well supplied with online images, lots of train photos or hiking trails etc. but nothing much about the infrastructure when the quarry was an integral part of BR(S). One excellent colour image of a Dogfish beside a loader has appeared on RMweb but details of site facilities are pretty difficult to find. Is a book about Meldon Quarry available?

For example, a plan of the quarry would be useful, if only to identify facilities and their whereabouts, also images of quiet corners of the quarry, was there an onsite wagon repair facility etc.

These images of smaller buildings are useful:-

The intention is to create a cameo of a 'quiet' corner of Meldon

Cheers

Jack

Do you have Irwell's 'Okehampton Line'? On P44 there is a general view taken in 1964, and there is quite a lot of joined-up writing about the signalling, though not about operations as such.

I confess to having walked across the viaduct in late-May.
