125_driver
Hi, I have two Hornby HST power cars (the latest version) and neither will run. Both are factory decoder fitted. Yet class 47s with presumably the same Hornby factory decoder fitment runs fine with an address of 3 on dcc. The HSTs will also not run on dc mode either yet make a brief sound then go quiet in dc. I am using a ct elektronik system and it only seems to be the Hornby factory fitted decoder HSTs that are an issue as I also have a none decoder fitted hst which will run fine. Any suggestions where I am going wrong , as I am rather a novice due to all the changes in the 10 years I have been away from the hobby!! Any help appreciated!! smokebox
First thing I would do is to reset the decoder
Sir TophamHatt
Do the lights work? Don't worry about it moving for now. Have you tried nudging it a little? Clean track yes? Edited September 2, 2019 by Sir TophamHatt

Ouroborus
Unplug the decoder, fit a blanking plate, try on DCC or DC and look for signs of life
