RMweb Gold Sweet pea Posted September 5, 2019 RMweb Gold Share Posted September 5, 2019 (edited) This is a new build I am planning after a few failed starts with other layouts. This diorama will have a goods theme to it, with an embankment at the back of the diorama. The items I will be using are: Model scale scenery 200x200 diorama board, Peco setrack, Wills timber built yard store, 5 Plank wagon, fencing, ballast, static grass, shrubs, bushes and a few wild flowers. I have made a mock-up of diorama. Edited September 5, 2019 by OOman

RMweb Gold Sweet pea Posted September 5, 2019 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted September 5, 2019 Thank you Marlyn for the likes. I will receive the diorama board tomorrow so at least I can start to glue it together and make the backboard the desired height for the embankment which will run the whole length of the back. RMweb Gold Sweet pea Posted September 6, 2019 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted September 6, 2019 Marlyn thanks for the kind comments, this size diorama is what I like to model on. I have had a few flops when it comes to modelling locations. This one I have thoroughly done my homework on like my other diorama A Place to watch trains. I hope to start building the baseboard tomorrow.
RMweb Gold Sweet pea Posted September 7, 2019 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted September 7, 2019 Finally made a start today, building the scale model scenery baseboard and cutting the backboard to the height I want. I do like these little diorama baseboards. I have laid the track and built my yard store shed. I have tested where I want the shed which looks great. The supports I have glued in place to start building the embankment behind the shed. loads to do but no rush.

faded_Glory
Good work! Did you leave the rail joiners on so that you can attach this diorama to the next one?

RMweb Gold Sweet pea Posted September 8, 2019 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted September 8, 2019 Hi this morning I have done some work on the diorama, the kitchen roll soaked in PVA has been added to the embankment area. The yard store shed is coming along nicely, the main colour and wood edging has been painted. The roof, guttering and drain pipes are still to paint. This I will do tomorrow as I’m on nights tonight. A few pictures of my progress. 3
RMweb Gold Sweet pea Posted September 9, 2019 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted September 9, 2019 Hi today I have concentrated on weathering and building another doorway to the yard store shed. I’m really happy with the result. I have also made some concrete steps which will be added to the shed once in situ. As always a few pictures of my progress. 5

RMweb Gold Sweet pea Posted September 10, 2019 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted September 10, 2019 Hi a little bit progress on my diorama today. The embankment area has been grassed and the ballast has been laid. The yard store shed is weathered and fitted in place, the steps still need a little work and the oil tank still needs to be weathered. Im making my own flowers to place around the Diorama and I will hopefully start work on single track leading to the store shed. A pictures of my progress.

Andrew Cockburn
Looking good so far, a simple theme, but quite effective just the same. Look forward to seeing how it develops further.
