Class 43 HST sound recommendations

Hi folks,

I've got a set of Hornby ScotRail Inter7City HST power cars, now equipped with Hornby's MTU TTS twin decoder set.

The sound is pretty poor, tinny and distorted (would win the 'loudness wars'), changing volume CVs didn't help.

Tried other speakers (Megabass and Zimo Dumbos), which made the sound better, but also the distorted sound more prominent.

As they were fairly cheap, there's no need to go for non-sound ones...

Legomanbiffo's sounds would an (expensive) alternative, but there's a warning on DC kits website if you want to change the loco address, which has to follow special rules to not fry the chips.

Are there more options to get a decent HST sound?

Sorry if this has been discussed before, couldn't find anything with the search engine.

Thanks for any help.

Tom

Oue website states that the address is set to 125 as there were issues with programming some of the earlier Hornby HST's.

An ease option is 2 X Hi Bass Speakers in the Powered car & Unpowered car usinf two sound decoders.
