  1. I had the same rocking/wobble issue with my first and replacement loco and also sent them a video. This time I was told it was designed this way to run on the track properly. Never heard this the first time and no other loco in my collection does this... Other folk seem to have no issues though. Also, this time I learned you need to cut/shorten the sanding pipes yourself, if they cause issues on your layout... That reminds me of a certain software company saying "it's not a bug, it's a feature".
  2. Thanks for all your comments on this model. Was tempted to go for one at a hunner, despite old tooling and no pax lights. The livery is just so poor, money well saved. Cheers
  3. Had to return mine as well with similar noise issues. It was also struggling to keep up speed in turns (motor seameded to work hard). Should have kept my Regional version of the first batch which had no problems at all.
  4. Hi folks, I've got a spare LokSound v4 chip and I'm looking for a Class 66 sound file with Drivelock or similar. All recent sound files now use the v5 chip, so I was wondering if older ones are available. Thank you in advance.
  5. Thanks for the info! Ordered one, at least normal price, not 100 quid extra like on the popular auction site...
  6. Looks nice. But going on the train with your better half costs as much as a sound fitted Deltic... What to choose? 😇
  7. Thank you for the clarification. I have contacted support first anyway, but just dropped another email.
  8. So, does that mean I'll get the full refund, or do you consider the deposit of £30 a reasonable fee?
  9. Yes, no issues with Rails or other retailers at all. Found this in AS FAQs: Reservation Fees cover the cost of admin, raising balances and processing fees, and are non refundable, but are fully deductible from the cost of completing your order. It doesn't say what happens with faulty items returned for refund, but it would be a bad practice not to fully refund. Haven't heard back yet since 8/7/22 though.
  10. That's what I thought. Pay a deposit to secure one, if for any reason you don't want it, it's lost. But if returned for refund you should get it all back. Got the (partial) refund already, just waiting for the deposit.
  11. Regarding deposit, do you get it back when returning the loco for refund (as it's faulty)?
  12. Just stumbled across this thread... Can someone tell me which couplings Bachmann have used for their Trix wagons? Must be either their own screw-on 36-025 (short) or 36-026 (long) ones... What small and short screws would you recommend to fit these? They also have 3-hole wheels, so I suggest these would their 36-015 Metal 3-Hole Disc Wagon Wheels. Thank you for any help.
  13. Does someone have a sound function list for the newer v5 Class 20s? Apparently, they use a new sound set... is it a good one?
  14. Is it this one? Bachmann 32-030DS Class 20 Headcode Box 20156 BR Railfreight (Red Stripe). Is it a new sound project?
  15. A bit off topic, but congratulations Richard & Zena! Nice pictures too.
  16. Hi folks, I've got a set of Hornby ScotRail Inter7City HST power cars, now equipped with Hornby's MTU TTS twin decoder set. The sound is pretty poor, tinny and distorted (would win the 'loudness wars'), changing volume CVs didn't help. Tried other speakers (Megabass and Zimo Dumbos), which made the sound better, but also the distorted sound more prominent. As they were fairly cheap, there's no need to go for non-sound ones... Legomanbiffo's sounds would an (expensive) alternative, but there's a warning on DC kits website if you want to change the loco address, which has to follow special rules to not fry the chips. Are there more options to get a decent HST sound? Sorry if this has been discussed before, couldn't find anything with the search engine. Thanks for any help. Tom
  17. Bachmann V3 2-6-2T. No issues yet.
  18. Thank you guys, this makes choices even more difficult... Digitrains reverser stuff and features look quite interesting and it has all the features; but so does Wheeltappers. Richard, your quest to fit a stay alive would be very interesting too see; I doubt you'll fit in your favourite EM2 tough... I'll keep an eye (ear?) on this. Thanks again.
  19. Hi folks, I'm thinking about adding a OO Bachmann Jinty with sound to my collection. Which sound(file)/chip would you recommend? The Bachmann 32-227DS Jinty 7365 in LMS black has nice sounds; does anyone know which Next18 decoders they use and, if necessary, could a stay alive be fitted? I've got very good experiences with the YouChoos stuff (I like the ActiveBrake, Shunting and Volume change options). For variety, some suggestions would be very helpful. Thank you very much.
  20. Any clues what sound chips they are going to use on the sound fitted models?
  21. Thank you erveryone for all your information. I totally agreed with Alan, was quite shocked by the poor offers I got so far. Even regarding the buyers' risks etc., less than 25% for as new items (of which some sound locos are not even run in) is a joke IMHO. I'll probably try both; sell special items on that big auction site or similar, and the lot to one of the shops. Cheers muchly.
  22. Hi folks, hope this is in the right forum. Can you recommend a Model Shop which buys railway and/or diecast collections and pays fair prices? Thanks for any hints. Cheers, Tom
  23. Thank you so much for this information! I'm not going to touch the interior of this new model in any way, so I'll leave it to them. Cheers.
  24. ACE-2 from Sig-na Trak, which basically fixed all isuues I had before with ESU stuff. eMailed you anyway, let's take it from there.
  25. Thanks, I got the model today by post this morning. I just found out one destination indicator doesn't work (no light on "Newcastle", but on "Glasgow"). Not sure, but could this mess up the sounds being played properly? Everything else works fine; other lights, sounds and motor are excellent. I've tried latching and momentary action on the flush as well.
