Hornby Castle Respray

Jimbo brought this Castle round today - still a few details to sort and some light weathering to do but is this what a BR(W) loco should really look like? Original included for comparison....

That's a real improvement Phil, but must have taken quite a lot of effort with having to redo the lining.

 

I've wondered for a while if it's possible to "beef up" Hornby's feeble green with an overspray of  satin varnish tinged with black, never tried it though.

It did indeed John... not to be tackled lightly. Have to admire what James has done on what is not a main stream model for us... but spiritually she belongs on our layout!
