RMweb Gold Phil Bullock Posted January 16, 2020 RMweb Gold Share Posted January 16, 2020 (edited) Jimbo brought this Castle round today - still a few details to sort and some light weathering to do but is this what a BR(W) loco should really look like? Original included for comparison.... Edited January 16, 2020 by Phil Bullock Photo added
John Tomlinson
That's a real improvement Phil, but must have taken quite a lot of effort with having to redo the lining. I've wondered for a while if it's possible to "beef up" Hornby's feeble green with an overspray of satin varnish tinged with black, never tried it though. John. RMweb Gold Phil Bullock Posted March 1, 2020 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted March 1, 2020 It did indeed John... not to be tackled lightly. Have to admire what James has done on what is not a main stream model for us... but spiritually she belongs on our layout!
Norton961
Hornbys feeble green can be livened up by brushing on Klear, a couple of coats should do. Then weather over the top. The Klear darkens the green nicely. David
