Hi all

At Revelstoke BC there is a turning wye at the CP yard which seems to have originally been a junction as a track bed runs approximately south from the town until it disappears into Arrow Lake.

Was this abandoned when the reservoir was built or earlier?

Where did it go to?

Where did it go - Arrowhead, where it offered connections to the lake/river boat service the CPR offered.

Per below, the lake service ended around 1954 (no surprise, victim of better road connections) and the dam built around 1968

This is a link to a 1938 map showing the west half of the CPR where you can see the line

For completeness this is the eastern half

Lake service on the Arrow Lakes / Columbia River seems to have ended around 1954

The former rail bridge in Revelstoke is gone, but a pedestrain / ambulance bridge has recently been built where it used to be https://www.revelstokereview.com/community/the-black-bridge-a-look-at-the-new-bridge-over-the-illecillewaet-river-and-the-greenbelt/

I think mdvle has pretty well covered it!

Just one more site: http://www.revelstokemuseum.ca/arrowhead-heritage-resource-assessment

And a public-domain photograph of the wharf at Arrowhead (which will almost certainly be on one of the sites mdvle linked to.)

The train service evidently outlasted the lake steamers. In 1955 there was a twice-weekly out and back mixed train starting at Revelstoke:
